Dosage/Direction for Use

Acyclovir is best known as an antiviral as an alternate medication. Apply at the first appearance of cold sores or genital herpes in the United States, with or without food, in adults and children over 12 years of age. Apply until symptoms disappear after 7 days, depending on the country. Do not exceed the recommended duration. Do not use more of this medication or throw away a whole person unless medically necessary, since some HSV infections may become infected with different drugs. Administration

Use Zovirax as soon as possible within first 4 days after appearance of a visible lesion on a recurrence recurrence. Continue for 4 weeks.
