Information on Generic ParacetamolZovirax Cream is an antiviral medication. It is a type of medication called a prodrug. This drug is converted into another drug by the liver. The drug Zovirax Cream is a metabolite of the antiviral medication paracetamol. It is formed when the body is heated in the presence of paracetamol, a substance found in prescription medicines. If you are taking Zovirax Cream, it is best to avoid this medication until your doctor tells you to stop. Zovirax Cream should not be used by people who have a skin rash, itching or hives after applying it.
Zovirax Cream can cause a skin rash, but it does not cause a skin itch or a skin itching.
How to use:
Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.Apply the cream liberally to completely cover the whole of the affected area. Apply to the affected area five times a day at approximately 4 hourly intervals for four days. If your cold sore has not healed after this time, you can use the cream for up to 10 days in total. See the enclosed leaflet for further details. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you know that your immune system is weakened.

Acyclovir is best known as an antiviral as an alternate medication. Apply at the first appearance of cold sores or genital herpes in the United States, with or without food, in adults and children over 12 years of age. Apply until symptoms disappear after 7 days, depending on the country. Do not exceed the recommended duration. Do not use more of this medication or throw away a whole person unless medically necessary, since some HSV infections may become infected with different drugs. Use Zovirax as soon as possible within first 4 days after appearance of a visible lesion on a recurrence recurrence. Continue for 4 weeks. In general, do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period. Zovirax (Acyclovir) should be taken at the same time each day for the best results. In people with a history ofthpaced thobia; use it as soon as possible after a first appearance ofthaceous or pruritated zoster (shingles) to access relief to a recurrence.
Do not take Zovirax if:
It is known to be an antiviral. It should not be taken by children or people under 12 years of age. It also should not be given to patients with known allergy or hypersensitivity to Acyclovir, or with any other herpes virus, or moderate to severe liver impairment. It may cause serious skin reactions, including blistering/clulatermeting states (urticaria), Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Do not use Zovirax if:
Hypersensitivity to Acyclovir, to other antiviral drugs, or to any of the other antiviral drugs listed. Do not take Zovirax if you have had a liver transplant or if it has been prescribed to you as a cancer treatment.
Zovirax tablets should be taken with food to avoid a upset stomach. Zovirax tablets also contain loratadine which may cause serious side effects such as an abnormal bleeding/trouble in the formation of blood clots, vision loss, and the appearance of white spots in the treated area. To avoid treatment with loratadine, take the lowest effective dose of Acyclovir for the shortest possible amount of time.
